Terms of use and terms of giving.

Who we are

Clarida Foundation is a Colorado nonprofit corporation, formed on 7 August 2026. Its address is 1500 N Grant St #11469, Denver, CO 80203, United States, and its Employer Identification Number is 42-4327380. Where these terms say "we", "us" or "the Foundation", that is the organization they mean.

We are preparing to file for recognition of exemption under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We expect any recognition granted to be effective retroactive to our date of formation, but we cannot guarantee the outcome of the application. Using this site

You may read this site, quote it with attribution, and link to it. You may not use it to impersonate the Foundation, to solicit gifts on our behalf, or to represent an affiliation that does not exist.

Not medical advice

Nothing on this site is medical advice, and nothing on it is an offer of treatment. What is described here are the Foundation's programs and intentions. It is not a recommendation for the care of any individual patient, it does not establish any relationship between you and a clinician, and it must not be used to make a treatment decision.

Gifts and currency

All amounts shown on this site are in United States dollars (USD), and every charge is made in United States dollars. If your card or bank account is denominated in another currency, your own bank sets the exchange rate and may add its own fee; we neither see nor control either.

A gift made through this site is a voluntary, unconditional contribution to a charitable corporation. You receive nothing in exchange for it: no goods, no services, no membership, no preference of any kind.

The Foundation's gift acceptance policy governs what we may accept and on what terms, and it prevails over anything on this page. The Board may decline a gift, and returning a gift it has declined is a decision under that policy rather than a refund.

Refunds and disputes

A completed gift is not refundable, except to correct a payment error. A contribution becomes an asset of a charitable corporation, and the directors have a duty to apply it to the Foundation's purposes.

We will refund a payment where:

• you were charged twice, or charged an amount other than the one you authorized;
• a recurring gift was set up when a single gift was intended;
• the payment was not authorized by you.

Write to give@clarida.org. We may refund a gift in other circumstances at our discretion; that is a decision under the gift acceptance policy, not a right under these terms.

Three mechanical details:

• Card refunds return to the card used, and typically appear within five to ten business days depending on your issuer. They cannot be sent anywhere else.
• Bank-transfer refunds are all-or-nothing. The payment network does not support a partial refund of a bank debit, and the refund arrives as a separate credit that your statement may not label as a refund. We email you when we send one.
• A refund cancels the acknowledgment. If we have already sent written acknowledgment of a gift we later refund, we will send a correction, because the original would otherwise overstate what you gave.

If you believe a charge is wrong, contact give@clarida.org. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have against your card issuer or your bank.

Stopping a recurring gift

You may stop a recurring gift at any time. Write to give@clarida.org.

We will cancel the schedule and confirm in writing. If you tell us at least five business days before the next scheduled charge, that charge will not be made. If the payment has already been initiated, we will refund it.

To change the amount, write to us and we will replace the schedule with a new one.

There is no self-service cancellation page. Our payment processor's donor portal does not support recurring gifts paid by bank transfer, which is the rail we encourage donors to use, so the route for every donor is email. We will never require a telephone call to stop a recurring gift.

A recurring gift also ends on its own if the card expires or the bank debit fails repeatedly. We will email you if that happens.

Who may give, and for what

This site is directed to donors in the United States, and the Foundation is not registered to solicit contributions outside it. Gifts from outside the United States are accepted; if you are giving from abroad, write to give@clarida.org first.

Gifts made through this site are unrestricted. A gift restricted to a named program is accepted only by prior arrangement, because a restriction the Foundation accepts is binding on it and cannot be redirected afterwards without the donor's consent. Write to give@clarida.org.

The Foundation's gift acceptance policy sets out what we may accept, and we may decline or return a gift under it.

Security and payment data

Your card number never touches this site. When you give, you leave clarida.org for a payment page hosted and served by Stripe, Inc. on Stripe's own domain. You enter your details there, Stripe processes them, and what comes back to us is a record of the gift: never the card number, never the bank account number, never a credential.

That arrangement is the security design rather than a convenience. This site embeds no payment form, loads no third-party payment script, and stores no payment data, so there is no cardholder data on our infrastructure to protect, lose, or be breached. Stripe is certified as a PCI-DSS Level 1 service provider; we are not a payment processor and do not attempt to be one.

The site itself is served only over HTTPS, from a content delivery network in front of storage that is not publicly readable.

If you believe a charge on your statement is wrong, contact give@clarida.org and your card issuer or bank. If you have found a security problem in this site, or received a message that appears to come from the Foundation and asks for payment details or a password, write to hello@clarida.org.

The text, images and diagrams here are the Foundation's own work except where a source is credited, and the published research the site relies on belongs to the researchers who did it — see the sources page. You may quote from this site with attribution and link to it freely. The Clarida name and mark are ours and may not be used to suggest an affiliation or an endorsement that does not exist.

Disclaimers and liability

This site is provided as it is. We try to keep it accurate and current, and every figure on it is traced to a published source, but we do not warrant that it is complete, uninterrupted or error-free, and statements about what the Foundation intends to do are intentions rather than promises. To the fullest extent the law allows, the Foundation is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here limits your rights against your own card issuer or bank.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts sitting in Colorado are where any dispute about them belongs. The Foundation's Articles of Incorporation and bylaws govern the organization itself and prevail over these terms on anything they cover.

Changes to these terms

We may revise this page. The current version is always the one here, with its effective date at the top, and a revision applies to gifts made after it appears rather than retroactively to one already made. If we change the refund or cancellation terms materially, we will email donors on record.
